Miles had his one year check-up last Friday, July 9th. He received three shots and cried for just a little bit. Once the needles were put away, he was fine. Our little bean isn't so little anymore. Miles is 30 inches long and 22 pounds and 12 ounces. He's between the 50th and 75th percentile for both his height and weight. His head is a little small but the pediatrician assured us that it's not the size that matters, it's what's inside :)
Our pediatrician was very pleased to see how well Miles is walking and, as Miles tried to open up the drawers and doors on the cabinet, asked if we had baby proofed the house. Mike and I couldn't help but chuckle and I think Miles may have laughed at that point too. Miles is into EVERYTHING. He is the reason child safety manufacturers are in business.
We were given the green light to start Miles on whole milk. Since we were out of town this weekend, we didn't start until tonight. I mixed two ounces in with his formula and he didn't seem to notice or care. Then again he's more interested in solid food now than his bottle. Our goal is to have him off formula by the time we finish the container we have. Then we'll start working on getting rid of the bottle!
His next check-up will be when he's 15 months old.
