The harder I tried to convince him to put it on, the more he refused to slip into it. We ran out of time, so I shoved his Spider-Man costume into his book bag in case he decided to change his mind when he saw the other kids. He did, but only for a minute. He ran into the bathroom, turned into Spider-Man and when he came out, he went back to being Peter Parker. Thankfully his costume had an alter ego we could fall back on.
I think it's amazing that he didn't care one bit that he wasn't in costume. I cared more than he did. Lesson learned.
