Decorating Easter Eggs

Just the thought of dying eggs with Miles was a little scary. It screamed DISASTER. The kid loves to create what we consider "masterpieces" but others may think of as big messes. We weren't sure which direction this experiment would go.

We probably should have dyed the eggs in the comfort of our own home and kitchen, but we thought it would be fun to do it with Mike's Nana Tedeschi in Philly. Mike and I love experiencing new things with Miles, so why not share our fun with another person, right?!

As I poured the three tablespoons of vinegar into the seven plastic cups and watched the dye dissolve, I questioned my sanity. Who gives a 21-month-old dye to begin with and especially in another person's house. But there was no turning back. How could Mike and I stop after we already talked it up to Miles? So, under close supervision, the dying began.

Now, you're probably thinking we must have had a huge accident, that dye went everywhere, but you're wrong. Sorry to disappoint you. This isn't your typical Miles story. As much as I would have loved it if he had gotten messy, he walked away with just a few purple finger tips. He didn't even need a bath. Miles did great. He loved plopping the eggs into each of the cups and helping Daddy pull them out. He dropped a few after the fact but patched them up with some "bandaids" (a.k.a. stickers).
