Train Garden

For 29 years, the Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company has created a large train garden for little and "big" kids to enjoy each Christmas. Mike's parents have taken Nicholas and Emilie a few times; however, Mike and I never ended up going. This year, the three of us and my friend Natalie, who was in town visiting from Michigan, met my in-laws and niece and nephew at the fire hall.

The train garden included five different train scenes. Each scene was beautiful and very elaborate. There were buttons all over the place for people to push that activated something inside of the scene - a hot air balloon, a house fire (with fire fighters fighting it), a man pulling fish out of an ice pond, an engine's light and so many more that I didn't have a chance to operate.

Miles was in awe. When you walked away from one scene he would sign for more. He loved watching the trains chug along the tracks. If I had to say he had a favorite, it was one with an Amtrak Acela like commuter train. My favorite was a wintery scene with the night sky (constellation included) in the background.
