One of the perks of my new job is that I'm home every morning when Miles wakes up. Before, I was on the road by 6:30 am and more often than not, Miles was still sleeping. I have to admit, there's nothing like hearing Mama or Dada coming through the monitor (unless it's before 7 am on the weekend).
Most of the time, Miles is standing at the end of his crib, blanket in hand and a smile on his face, waiting for you to open the door. A few weeks ago, I opened the door, saw that he was sitting down and then heard him say, "Mama, hat?!" As I peered over the crib, I noticed he had something on his head. It didn't take long for me to notice that the mobile was no longer hanging on the crib.
The monkey, elephant, lion and giraffe were now a "hat" according to Miles. I called for Mike and before either of us could stop laughing and grab the camera, Miles had taken his hat off so we could try it on. I'm sad to report that this "hat" is not one size fits all.
The photos you are about to see are a re-enactment but Miles was happy to assist in recreating the moment.
