College football, crisp leaves, campfires, s'mores and apple picking...these are a few of my favorite things about fall. We kicked this weekend off with a trip to a local orchard to pick apples. Miles has been strawberry picking, but this was his very first apple picking experience. We're not exactly sure what type of apples we picked, but they were HUGE. Miles was ecstatic when he found a few his size and at his level.
Unfortunately the excitement wore off after ten minutes. Boredom set in and Miles was ready to head home. Mike and I quickly grabbed a few more apples and then headed back to the tractor pick-up area to catch a ride back to the barn. I was hoping to bake an apple pie but we've been enjoying the apples with peanut butter all day.
On a side note, we passed the pumpkin patch on our way back to the barn and this year's crop looks great. We're definitely looking forward to pumpkin picking in October.
