Mike and I know that Miles is quick and clever; however, it's not very often that we're baffled by what he does or how he does it. Last Sunday was a different story.
Miles and I were home alone waiting for Mike to return from Columbus after attending the Ohio State vs Miami University football game. I was in the kitchen making lunch and Miles was in the family room watching Sesame Street - we were stuck inside because of rain.
In a matter of seconds, my little bean clicked from channel 264 to 336 (or something like that) on the cable box. With a few more clicks, he ordered the NFL RedZone package on Verizon Fios for $45. I have no idea how he did it but he did and had Verizon not sent me a confirmation email, I wouldn't have known until our bill arrived.
Since it was the NFL opening day, I didn't want to wait for normal business hours to tell someone how my 14-month-old ordered it without my permission and that we didn't want it. After waiting 45-minutes, I finally spoke with a customer service representative who loved the story and kindly removed the channel from our line-up.
Parental controls have now been enabled on our television and Miles now needs a special code to order. I'm pretty sure that if he uses the remote next time, he'll somehow figure out the right sequence.
Something tells me this is the first story in a very long series.
