Thirty–Two and Happy

I was really struggling around my birthday last year. Life wasn't bad, but I wasn't happy and spent most days forcing a smile. After some serious reflection, I took a leap of faith last August and left my full-time senior graphic design position to focus more on my family and finding a way to feel more fulfilled in life. I have no doubt  that it was the right decision and the best one for my family.

While my family sang "Happy Birthday" to me on my 32nd birthday in July, I couldn't help but think of those who gave me the confidence to believe in myself. Without them, I would have never jumped into freelancing. There are pros and cons like anything but the flexibility I now have is invaluable. Although things are a little nuts right now, our family has benefited from the change. As for me, I'd like to think that I'm smiling more these days.
